We are very excited to announce that The Kitchen is expanding its family of restaurants to Chicago!
This move comes after The Kitchen Community, the non-profit arm of The Kitchen, planted 100 Learning Gardens in Chicago schools to positively impact over 50,000 kids in the area. The Kitchen Chicago will donate one Learning Garden per year and help raise funds to continue the incredible momentum already created in Chicago.
Kimbal Musk and Hugo Matheson, founders of The Kitchen, signed a lease with Friedman Properties for a space in the historic Reid Murdoch building located at 316 N. Clark St., Chicago, IL at the corner of Clark and the River. The restaurant design will expose the 100-year history of the building as The Kitchen Chicago is slated to open later this year.
The Chicago location will continue The Kitchen’s mission of “Community Through Food” by including local craftsmen, builders, designers as well as farmers, ranchers, brewers and other purveyors in the development of the restaurant. Several members of The Kitchen management team are traveling from Colorado to Chicago this week to start establishing relationships.
