With school starting back up, we’ve made a few must-dos before summer comes to an end. Here are 4 simply delicious ways to enjoy a Fort Collins Summer send-off!
1) Peaches, Peaches, Peaches!
August is peach month! Cooking with peaches is a delicious, simple way to experience the flavors of Summer. Their vibrant color can make any dish truly POP!
A visit to the Fort Collins Peach festival on August, 20th should be at the top of your Summer bucket list. For all of the juicy details visit www.fortcollinspeachfestival.com
2) Cool off with Homemade Popsicles
Homemade popsicles are a fun way to get your favorite fruits and veggies. A visit to one of the many local farmers markets will provide you with the most fresh ingredients; spinach, strawberries, beets, and carrots can all be apart of your popsicle treat. All you need to do is blend, pour the mixture into a popsicle mold or tray, insert a popsicle stick and freeze! Mix it up by adding your favorite yogurt, milk or honey!
Check out www.larimercountyfarmersmarket.org for local market information.
3) Conquer Cold Brew Coffee
The first step to creating cold brew is acquiring fresh ground coffee. Visit our neighbor, Bean Cycle Roasters, for some of our favorite coffee in town! Next, grind up about ¾ cup and mix with 4 cups of cold water. Let the ingredients rest for 12 hours then simply strain out the grounds and enjoy! This works well with a traditional french press. Served best over ice and with good company.

4) Strawberry Picking at Garden Sweet
Garden Sweet farm, located less than 5 miles from Fort Collins, invites you to ‘Pick Your Own Strawberries’ daily. They have the most sweet, and juicy berries in Northern Colorado. Stop by The Kitchen to try our (soon to be famous) Eton Mess dessert, which features Garden Sweet strawberries, whipped chantilly cream, and bits of meringue.
